Women's Catholic Scripture Study

Belmont, California

Our Format

Each lesson begins with individual home study which involves reviewing the Scripture readings and the lesson pages along with prayer (writing out your responses to the questions is optional).

We also encourage participants to check out the online page for further reflection and the online videos for each lesson: Click here to see what we mean.

On Thursday mornings we meet as a large group and also in small groups:

9:45 -10:00 AM: Social Time (coffee, tea, conversation)
10:00 - 10:15 AM: Gather as a large group for opening session
10:15-11:25 AM: Small Groups meet to discuss the study questions

11:30 AM-Noon: "Wrap-up" session

Potlucks

We meet occasionally for large group potlucks. On these days, everyone is invited to bring a dish to share. We don't structure this, but simply ask you to bring whatever you'd like. If we have all cookies, then that's what we eat that day (but it does always seem to work out fine). The most important part of the potluck is fellowship.

Luncheons:

Each small group will determine occasional days/times to meet for a brown bag luncheon (everyone brings their own). We make the study our priority, so our time seems to move along quickly on class day. The small group luncheons allow for more time to become better acquainted with members of our group.
